At the Threshold
For those who feel it
Stepping into the Light
I asked the tarot cards what I should focus on in my introductory Substack post and they did not disappoint. After spending the rest of the day procrastinating, I decided to share those cards with you and how they relate to what I enjoy writing and learning.
1. The Devil
The affirmation listed in The Light Seer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne is
In the darkness I am free to heal everything.
This is where my interest and my power lies. It has come to me through my work in women’s circle, therapy, and through the writing community. The power that comes from not just facing the darkness inside, the shadow self, as Carl Jung identified it, but allowing it to be witnessed.
Over the past 10 years, I have done intense inner work around my own shadows and trained to hold space for others to do the same. I explore this through sacred circle, engaging in kink, and polyamory, as well as through work with psychedelics.
2. Knight of Wands
I’m a fiery and charismatic person, until now I have struggled to try and “convince” the world of the internet of that fact. This card encouraged me to share my infectious feelings and inspiration. My passion is for going into the dark places and grabbing life by the horns with intention not to prove anything, but because it’s where I come alive.
The Knight of Wands doesn’t wait to be understood. She trusts the spark when it hits, even if it doesn’t make sense yet. I can feel how much energy I’ve spent trying to translate myself into something more palatable, more explainable, more…acceptable.
This card feels like a refusal. A refusal to slow down my fire. A refusal to dilute desire into something safe and easily categorized. The people who feel it will feel it immediately. The rest were never mine to reach.
3. Page of Wands
Doubling down on the infectious enthusiasm with a side of explosive creativity! The Page remembers how to play. I claim the willingness to be seen before anything is proven. The invitation is to follow my spark without gripping it too tightly and let my enthusiasm be visible. The ones who resonate won’t need to be convinced, they’ll simply recognize themselves and step closer.
This is how I want to begin here
Not by explaining who I am, but by letting you feel it.
If something in you recognizes this…stay.
